My Current Favourite Products for Longer and Healthier Hair

Welcome back to Beauty & Fragrance Finds! In this blog post I will be breaking down some of my favourite hair care products, from oils to hair masks, to heat protectants, that have made a huge difference in the growth and health of my hair.

I start my routine with hair oiling which I have recently started doing consistently, at least once a week. There are a variety of oils which you can apply to your scalp which encourage hair growth, I personally have been using rosemary oil, in combination with castor oil, as the former is very potent and therefore needs to be diluted by a carrier oil to avoid damage. This combination has become my go-to pre-shampoo treatment to increase hair density. I typically carry out this routine a few hours before washing my hair, allowing time for the oils to absorb but avoiding the potential negative effects of leaving them for a prolonged time.

I then wash this out with the L’Oréal Dream Lengths shampoo, which also contains castor oil, as well as keratin. These ingredients combine to produce a formula which is specifically designed to strengthen long hair and protect against breakage. As for conditioner, I usually like to use hydrating hair masks every time I wash my hair. I alternate between the Garnier Ultimate Blends Banana Hair Food and the Amika Soulfood Nourishing Mask. The Garnier Banana Hair Food Mask has a delicious smell as well as being intensely hydrating, making it perfect for dry hair as it leaves strands silky smooth. On the other hand, the Amika Soulfood Mask is enriched with nutrients like jojoba oil and vitamin C, which help to strengthen my hair, while also adding an extra shine. Using masks such as these at least once a week have kept my hair deeply moisturised and much less prone to frizz.

After washing out the hair mask, I apply a few pumps of the Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Glossy Nourishing Hair Oil to the ends of my hair. This oil is lightweight but incredibly nourishing, and it has the signature Sol de Janeiro 62 scent which I find to be very long-lasting. This product contains açaí and coconut oil, which seal in moisture and make my hair look glossy and healthy without any greasy residue.

Next, before using any heated tools such as my straightener, I protect my hair with the Lee Stafford Shine Mist. This heat protectant not only guards my hair against heat damage but also adds a noticeable shine and scent, setting it apart from similar products which I have used in the past.

Other miscellaneous products which I use include the Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo, which is my favourite dry shampoo due to its lightweight, powder-free formula that absorbs oil without weighing my hair down or leaving a chalky residue, even on dark hair. It also has a soft and clean fragrance which adds a freshness to my hair in between washes.

For an additional final touch to my routine, I often use Rare Beauty’s Find Comfort Hair and Body Mist. The subtle warm floral scent of this mist makes it perfect for both hair and body, and it is also alcohol-free, making it non-drying on your hair compared to traditional perfumes and mists.
